Coach Jay

Coach Jay is a passionate coach and trainer specializing in enhancing the soccer skills of players between ages 4-13. Over 18 years of playing experience and multiple years of coaching over 2000 youth soccer players has allowed Coach Jay to create soccer classes and sessions that are both fun and teach the fundamentals essential to the game of soccer.

Drawing from his own experiences as a collegiate athlete at Hamline University, Coach Jay understands the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of soccer training. He firmly believes that through proper guidance, mentorship, and a supportive environment, young athletes can develop not only their soccer skills, but also essential life skills such as discipline, teamwork, and resilience.

With years of experience in coaching youth sports, Coach Jay has had the opportunity to work with players of diverse backgrounds and skill levels. His coaching style focuses on creating a positive and inclusive environment, where mistakes are not only welcomed, but applauded, as these are the moments where true growth occurs. Each session is customized with the skillset and developmental plan of each player in mind.

Coach Jay grew up playing club soccer for SC Waukesha (now SC Wave), where he was able to play under both Marcelo Santos (a former Marquette University Assistant Coach & current Assistant Coach of New England Revolution II), and Giuliano Olivero (current Head Coach of the Milwaukee Wave). Jay’s soccer education grew further upon his arrival at Hamline University, where he was able to work with Alex Morawiecki (current U-19 Assistant Coach for MLS team Minnesota United). All three coaches gave him lessons that he carries outside of the game, an impact Coach Jay looks to achieve through Spring Sports.
